Baron Street

Pioneering Sustainable Living

Baron Street is set to introduce a groundbreaking unit development, marking a potential first for Tasmania with its planned certified Passive House units aimed at achieving net zero energy use. This visionary project encapsulates our commitment to sustainable, energy-efficient living, setting new standards for residential construction.

Upcoming Features

  • Passive House Certification: Targeting certification for two units, these homes are designed to operate with net zero energy use, representing a significant leap towards sustainable living.
  • Solar Energy Integration: These units are equipped with solar panels to harness renewable energy, complementing their net zero goals.
  • Efficient Hot Water Systems: Incorporating a heat pump hot water system that prioritises energy efficiency without compromising on comfort.
  • Eco-Friendly Appliances: Commitment to using energy-efficient appliances, reducing overall energy consumption while maintaining modern conveniences.
  •  Healthy and Sustainable Cladding: We are planning to use Weathertex Weathergroove cladding with a charred black stain, offering a healthier alternative that mimics the aesthetic of Shou Sugi Ban timber.
  • Innovative Brick Use: Utilising low carbon bricks.
  • Advanced Window Solutions: Implementing triple-glazed uPVC Aliclad windows from Unilux for superior insulation and to prevent thermal bridging.
  • Optimised Insulation and Airtightness: To enhance the units’ thermal efficiency, an internal airtight layer with a service cavity was designed alongside high insulation levels in the slab, walls, and ceiling.
  • Rigorous Testing: Planning for blower door tests at pre-plaster and completion stages to ensure airtightness and energy efficiency.

Baron Street is not just a development; it’s a forward-thinking approach to living spaces that are as considerate of the environment as they are of the residents’ comfort and lifestyle.
